“The mind is its own place and it itself, can make a heaven of hell, and a hell of heaven.” -John Milton

In The Great Divorce, C.S. Lewis carries this quote out to its extreme, depicting a heaven that is “so real- too real” that some people can’t deal with it and choose to live in hell- where they live out their own false lives.

My ability to choose my attitude daily reflects where i choose to live. Do i choose to live a hell on earth or to live out the kingdom of heaven? Neither is an accident and presents a fresh oppor-tunity to choose each morning.

Am i connecting a positive attitude with living as Jesus intended? Yup.  Did i connect it as well as i wanted to? Nope.

Paradise is often gained or lost before i brush my teeth.
